A decomposing body pulled from the Thames has been identified as missing Pitsea man Allan Nash.
The 28-year-old disappeared in April after leaving his home in Woodhays, Pitsea, for a party in Kings Cross, London. Officers in Basildon had feared the worst after checks on the man's bank account proved Mr Nash had not touched any cash since leaving home.
The Metropolitan Police have now discovered a body washed up in the River Thames at Wapping. Dental records and clothing have confirmed the identity of the man.
Officers are not treating the death as suspicious.
