Nine members from the Dovedale Disabled Sports Club won four gold, seven silver and four bronze awards at the Rochford and Southend Disabled Sports Club Disabled Sports Day in Rochford last Saturday.
Club Secretary and team manager Beryl Hastie said "this was a great start to the season, with some of our squad absent due to other commitments - hopefully throughout the year, volunteer drivers permitting, many more medals and trophies will be brought back to Chelmsford and the surrounding area"
The winners were: Christine Entwistle (at her first disabled event) Gold Unicurl; Silver Javelin and Lawn Darts; Doris Flack, Gold Bomber Darts; Silver Unishuffle; Chris Irving, Silver Bomber Darts; Jean Massey, Bronze Target Golf; Julie Saville, Gold Archery, Silver Pistol Shooting; Jacqui Smith, Gold Discus; Silver Javelin and Archery Bronze Shot Putt; and Paul Stevens, Silver Petanque Bronze Unicurl.
New members are always welcome and the club is currently looking for new drivers and helpers.
Anyone who may be interested is invited to telephone Beryl Hastie (early evenings only) on 01245 287246.
