Essex players will be spending so much time across the Severn Bridge during the next few days they are in danger of returning home with Welsh accents.
Their next three games are in Wales, starting with tomorrow's day/night National League clash against Glamorgan in their Dragons guise in Cardiff.
The counties meet again in the Welsh capital for a four-day Championship duel on Thursday.
And that is followed by a third round NatWest Trophy tie against Wales, this time in Swansea, on June 21.
Stephen Peters seems certain to return for the matches against Glamorgan to fill the gap left by Nasser Hussain, who will be leading England in the first Test against the West Indies which starts at Edgbaston on Thursday.
Peters has yet to make the most of his talent but was probably unlucky to be left out of the last game against Gloucestershire following four innings in which he was only dismissed twice.
In both those he was out for 22 but either side he scored an unbeaten 35, which sharing a century stand with Ronnie Irani against Warwickshire, and his 17 not out helped Essex secure victory against Northants at Ilford.
But while Peters was no doubt miffed over his omission against Gloucestershire, skipper Irani can justifiably point to the fact that the county romped to a 109-run triumph at Bristol without him.
Peters will make the trip to Cardiff with fond memories. It was the scene of his highest score in the Championship last season - an effort of 81 - and he will be desperately hoping for a similar performance in his quest to hold down a regular place.
Stuart Law will also be seeking to get back among the runs and emulate his performance of 12 months ago.
The Aussie has failed to reach 40 in his last five Championship innings, but Cardiff proved a happy hunting ground last summer when he scored a century to set up an innings victory with a day to spare.
Before then, however, Essex will be striving to get their act together in the National League after slumping to defeats against Notts and Durham after carving out commanding positions.
