A husband and wife were jailed today for ill-treating children.
Bruce, 27, and Heather Hill, 34, of Nayland Drive, Clacton, were sent to prison by a judge at Chelmsford Crown Court.
Bruce Hill was jailed for 18 months for a charge of cruelty and another of assault and four charges of ill-treatment. He had denied the charges but was convicted after a trial.
Heather Hill denied but was convicted for ill-treating a girl whose ribs were broken and another charge of failing to protect another child. She was jailed for a total of six months.
Judge Benjamin Pearson told the couple they had shown "no remorse" over the matters.
