The Burnham Golf Club ladies captain's team played the veterans' captain's team in a combined stableford competition.
The match finished seven games all, but the vets captain's team won on points.
Best pair was Anne Mapes and Ken Morgan with 69 points. Best lady was Kay Hill with 34 points and best man was George Root with 34 points.
Nearest the pin lady was lady captain Sue Frost, and man was Bill Corbett.
The winners of the hidden holes were Phyllis Brame and Barry Simmonds.
On Thursday, May 25, the ladies played a LGU medal with a combined 36 hole scratch and handicap competition.
Results were: LGU medal, Silver: 1st, Sue Grigg, nett 70; 2nd, Tessa Beer, net 73. Bronze: 1st, Linda Johnson, nett 72; 2nd Liz Wastnage, nett 78. 36 hole scratch: 1st , Tessa Beer, gross 179. 36 Handicap: 1st, Sue Grigg, nett 154.
On Friday, May 26 the bronze team achieved their fist win of the season, beating Chelmsford at home 4-3.
The Channel Ladies No 2 Silver Team of Tokito Fletcher, Jenny Hartnett, Elaine Jewitt, Jenny Humphries, Jenny Wheelhouse, Madelain LeMaistre and Doreen Harrowell play host to a Silver Team from the Essex Golf and Country Club but with wins from only Misses Jewitt. Wheelhouse and LeMaistre the team lost 4-3.
The other event of the week for the ladies was the Ladies Guest Day.
This was won by Lynn Fazzani and her guest, G Owens of the Warren GC with 40 points.
Diane Lyons and J Collins of Warley Park GC took the second place on countback with 34 points leaving Pam Petley and her guest from Chelmsford GC, Maureen Pond, to pick up the third prize.
The Front 9 prize went to Ellen Ridgewell and her guest from Braintree GC, Ann Show, as they scored 19 points.
Second on the Front 9 were Joan Mitchell and D Thornton of Forresters on 17 points.
The Back 9 was decided on countback from 20 points. Chris Garrett and M Dearmer of Langdon Hills taking the first spot and Sue Watts and Val Cook of Benton Hall (both formerly Regiment Way) coming in second.
