High visibility patrols are keeping a check on trouble spots across Wickford.
As part of a new initiative introduced across the Basildon Division, officers are targeting certain areas notorious for problems with unruly young people.
Community liaison officer, Geoff Whiter, said: "We are introducing this in Wickford to try and combat youth nuisance including graffiti, vandalism and under age drinking.
"This is a divisional initiative to put more officers out on the street. We are especially targeting times of the day when we have problems with young people.
"Most recently we have covered the Nevendon Park area, Oakhurst Close, Elder Avenue and also areas of Wick Meadows."
