A young dancer has pirouetted her way to stardom after winning a disco dancing competition while on holiday.
Jodie Simmons, of Cleveland Road, Canvey, was just one of the family who came home bearing trophies.
Her cousins, Lee, 13, and Joe, nine, were both in the winning five-a-side football team at the Isle of Wight holiday camp, where the family enjoyed a five-day break.
Jodie, seven, goes to dancing classes every week with her sisters, Katie, 13, and Emily, three, at Canvey dance school Karizma in Furtherwick Road.
Her grandmother Norma Welch, also of Cleveland Road, said: "Jodie loves dancing. I was very proud of her when she did her dance at the Savoy Country Club. She is very talented.
"She will be dancing in a show in Southend on July 14 and she will be doing a solo, which is fantastic."
Norma invited her family, including her three daughters, their husbands and her eight grandchildren, to the Isle of Wight to celebrate her 70th birthday.
She said: "The fact that Jodie won the dancing competition really made the holiday for me."
