There were over 100 competitors for the Winter National event at Slough on Sunday with five entrants from Braintree BMX Club.

Ryan Everitt, 15, was in tremendous form in his motos and despite one close finish, took victory in all three races putting him into the semi-finals.

However, he drew a bad lane eight for the start and although he put up a strong performance finished in fifth place which did not quality him through to the final.

Racing in each of Ryan's races was Darren Eastall who gained further experience against riders in the same age group and did well to finish in fifth in each of his three motos.

Also in the same age group but in separate races, Alex Humphrey was not feeling too good on the day and after two third places, withdrew from the event.

In the nine and ten year old races, the Club had Bradley Watts coming to terms with a brand new bike and taking sixth place in all his races, while Stevie Sewell from Dunmow rode magnificently to take two second places and a fourth to get him into the final.

Among some strong competition, he fought hard and finished in a pleasing fifth place.

Some of the Braintree BMX Club's riders will be attending Milton Keynes next Sunday and it is hoped that conditions will improve at the Braintree raceway for a Club meeting on March 12.
