The funeral of Essex Secretary/General Manager Peter Edwards, who died in South Africa on February 18 while on holiday, takes place on Friday at St Augustine's Church, Thorpe Bay at midday.
In accordance with the preferred wishes of Peter's wife Sue, only family, close friends and colleagues are due to attend and the family also expressed that no flowers were to be sent.
Instead, they asked that all donations be sent to the British Diabetic Association.
A memorial service for Peter, who was 63, will be held later in the year in Chelmsford Cathedral.
