Five members of Braintree BMX Club were among more than 100 competitors for the winter national event at Slough.

Fifteen-year-old Ryan Everitt was in tremendous form in his motos on Sunday and despite one very close finish, took victory in all three races to reach the semi-finals.

Unfortunately he drew a bad lane for the start and although he put up a strong performance, he finished fifth and did not qualify for the final.

Racing in each of Ryan's races was Darren Eastall who gained further experience against riders in the same age group and did well to finish in fifth in each of his three motos.

In the nine and ten-year-old races, Bradley Watts took sixth place in all his races while Stevie Sewell from Dunmow rode magnificently to take two second places and a fourth to reach the final where he finished fifth.

Some Braintree riders will be in action at Milton Keynes next Sunday and it is hoped conditions will improve at the Braintree raceway for a club meeting on March 12.
