A family enjoyed a bigger breakfast today when a radio show was broadcast live from their home.

The Rude Awakening team from Vibe fm dropped in on the Blume family home in Keelers Way, Great Horkesley, to help raise cash for charity.

Early morning breakfast DJs staged the event after dad Stuart Blume was the top bidder for the home broadcast in an internet charity auction.

The auction was held at the end of last year to raise money for the Cash for Causes charity which supports a wide variety of charities in the east of England.

Vibe fm invited listeners to bid for lots over the internet, and as a fan of the station, Mr Blume said having the breakfast show broadcast from his home was the best treat he could imagine.

He said his wife, Joanne, and children, Kate, four, and Nathan, 18 months, were also big Vibe fm fans and were keen to join in the fun.

The crew and DJs Baz and Nikki arrived at around 8am today and broadcast live on air at intervals throughout the show - while also cooking a slap-up breakfast for the family.

Mr Blume bid £180 to secure the visit and said it was "money well spent".
