Top engineering company MSX International is to open its £10 million European headquarters in Basildon tomorrow.

The motor industry supplier has moved to the town to be close to its key client, Ford. A total of 350 jobs have been created through the building of the centre.

However, bosses have hinted that number could increase depending on the success of the company in the town.

The company supplies technology-driven engineering, business and specialised staffing services to the motor industry.

The centre will be officially opened by Lord Braybrooke, the Lord Lieutenant of Essex.

Ian Everard, vice president of UK operations, said: "February 1 will be a landmark in the history of this company which can trace its history back over two decades.

"All members of staff can be rightly proud to be part of this day, which gives a clear indication that MSX International is not only here to stay but will be engineering the future way ahead of our competitors."
