Having had their previous week's game postponed, Old Southendians' Ladies continued their league campaign with an away trip to Sudbury.
The first half saw no score, but Southendians took the game to their opponents with some marauding right-wing runs from Lyn Knight.
The visitors finally took the lead after 65 minutes when the home defence got in a tangle from a centre and their goalkeeper was wrongfooted in no man's land.
The keeper could only watch as the ball ran over the goal-line with Southend striker Jo Jones following up for good measure.
Then, with 14 minutes to go, the visitors made certain of victory when Knight stabbed the ball home at the far post.
