Great Wakering Rovers go into Essex Thames-side Trophy action at Premier Division Purfleet tonight confident in the knowledge that a rare weekend of inactivity has not damaged their Ryman League Division Three title hopes.
For East Thurrock United, level on points with Rovers at the top but with a superior goal difference, lost 2-1 at Epsom and Ewell and have now played the same number of League games as the village side.
Wakering return to League action for the first time in three weeks next Saturday with a visit to promotion rivals Bracknell Town, who held them to a 2-2 draw at Burroughs Park in November.
