Chelmsford AC's Stuart Ohrland competed at the South of England Championships in Bedford last weekend where he won the Senior Men's high jump.
The win came off the back of a good performance in Birmingham two weeks ago, and at Bedford his clearance of 2.17m was a new championship best performance.
The result was even more creditable as the competitor who finished second only jumped 1.90m so Stuart had to jump the latter part of the competition on his own.
This is the best start to a season that Stuart has had and all bodes well for the AAA's Indoor Championships this weekend at Birmingham.
Stuart puts his success down to the new facilities at Melbourne Park Athletics Centre where he has been able to train on a regular basis during the winter.
The Birmingham event also incorporates trials for the European Indoor Championships, which are to be held at the end of February in Belgium.
