Lots of help is needed to plant 2,000 trees over the next couple of months.
Rangers at High Woods Country Park, Colchester, are to hold a tree planting event for anyone interested in helping to create woodlands for the future on February 5 and 6.
High Woods countryside education officer Yovone Banks said: "Although we have lots of volunteer rangers who get involved in our practical tasks, planting 2,000 trees would take a month of Sundays. So we are asking the people of Colchester to give us a hand."
She said many people had already shown interest in the project and one man intended starting his birthday celebrations by planting some trees.
People will be shown how to do the planting, there will be a supply of spades with some small ones so that children can also be involved and hot drinks will be available.
Please turn up at the visitor centre off Turner Road between 11am and 3pm on either day preferably with wellington boots.
