A pair of kittens who were left for dead in a black plastic bag have been getting used to a brand new life with a loving family.
The fluffy bundles were found in two carrier bags wrapped inside a bin bag in Greenstead, Colchester.
And, eager to see them survive, Angela Hurren and her family took them into their home in Fairhead Road and nursed them back to health.
Now 17 weeks old, the kittens, who have been named Missy and Gissy, are bouncing with health and have completely recovered from their traumatic experience.
Mrs Hurren said: "We wanted to keep them together as they were in the same bag and they are sisters. Now they are all healthy and fine even though they were abandoned.
"When they came to us they were really skinny, and now one of them is really fat."
The family intend to keep their two new additions.
