Old Romfordians look favourites to retain the mens title at the halfway stage of the H & K Commissions Indoor Tennis League.
The League is held at the Clearview tennis centre in Brentwood and Old Romfordians lead their division ahead of Hadleigh and West Horndon.
In mens division 2, Coniston Exiles from Upminster lead followed by Hanningfield and Havering.
Hadleigh head the field in mixed one, with Buckhurst Hill and Exning from Colchester providing the main challenge.
Clearview Murphy top mixed two with Thurrock and Marconi in contention. Defending champions Clearview Johnson lead the ladies' division.
There is a reserve list of players kept for this fun league and there are also court bookings available for non-members as well as opportunities to receive coaching.
The Chelmsford Junior Tennis League holds its AGM on February 28 at the Billericay Club.
The league, now one of the biggest junior competitions in the country, continues to go from strength to strength.
The Chelmsford-based Pope & Smith continue to sponsor the League, and this year, the league will hold divisions for girls and boys team in age groups 12, 14, 16 and 18.
Also the individual tournament and special one day team events. The next of these one day events is to be held at the David Lloyd Centre in Chigwell on April 9.

The Romford Tennis League is holding its AGM at the Grosvenor Club in Upminster on Friday, February 25.
The league will again be running ladies, mixed and mens divisions.

International tennis comes to Essex in the next few weeks.
An LTA Mens $15,000 Tournament is being held at the David Lloyd Centre in Chigwell during the week February 7-13.
'Stars of the Future' are expected to compete in the event hoping to earn world ranking points.
A week later (February 13-19) an LTA Womens $25,000 tournament is being held at the Redbridge Sports Centre.
A higher ranked event, it will attract many players just outside the top section. Spectators are welcome to both events free of charge.
