Colchester United fans are aiming to speak with a single voice after a meeting at Colchester Institute.
More than 70 U's supporters met last night to discuss ways of promoting fundraising initiatives and improving the club's public relations.
The supporters were looking to raise funds to enable the club to compete on an even platform with other Second Division clubs and, eventually, to help the U's sustain a promotion bid.
Some of the proposals put forward to help the club included increasing membership of the supporters' club, providing options to purchase shares in the U's and encouraging friends to visit Layer Road on matchdays.
Club director John Worsp, together with Brian Wheeler and Amanda Williams from the commercial department, were at the forum representing the club.
