Southend United fans wishing to attend Blues' Third Division derby clash at Leyton Orient on Saturday, February 5, are advised to buy advanced tickets from Roots Hall.
The O's have only allocated 1,200 seats for Southend's supporters, who were followed by twice as many people to Brisbane Road for last season's corresponding fixture, which could cause problems.
Lesley Vincent, the Seasiders' ticket officer, said: "Our ticket allocation at Brisbane Road has been reduced following a safety meeting between Leyton Orient and their local police force.
"This game is not all-ticket, but Leyton Orient felt it would help our fans planning to attend this match to pay for their seats in advance and make sure of their place.
"But if we fail to sell this allocation through the Roots Hall ticket office, then supporters will be able to pay at the Brisbane Road turnstiles on the day of the game."
Seat prices are £15 adults, £10 juniors and concessions, and will be on sale at Roots Hall until Wednesday, February 2.
