Grace Singer had every reason to be cheerful as she celebrated reaching the grand old age of 100.
Grace, who lives at Parklands nursing home in Benfleet, was joined by friends and family to celebrate her birthday.
Staff at the home in Thundersley Park Road threw a party for the sprightly centenarian to help mark the occasion.
A room in the home was decorated with balloons and a special cake was made for the birthday girl.
Castle Point mayor Tony Hurd, also popped in to join in the fun and pass on his best wishes.
Senior care assistant Grace Smith said: "We held a party for her and some friends and family. She is a lovely lady. She never complains or moans about anything.
She is really sweet and gets on well with all the other residents. There is always a smile on her face."
