Firefighters from Southend put their life-saving skills to the test when they rescued a kitten which had got trapped behind a fireplace.
The tiny kitten had climbed up behind the fireplace in its owner's home and had became stuck behind an iron grate at the house in Stromness Road, Southchurch, at around 1.25pm on Sunday.
Firefighters managed to free the kitten by loosening the grate.
