Jim Magilton is out of Ipswich Town's crunch promotion showdown with old enemies Bolton at the Reebok Stadium on Saturday.

The midfielder has a slight tear in the groin area and is likely to be out for between a week and ten days.

Town boss George Burley received the news yesterday after Magilton - who sustained the injury last week against Swindon - went for a scan.

It means Jermaine Wright will almost certainly get the nod in midfield - if he too recovers from injury.

He did some light jogging yesterday and should be fit for the match against the side who put Ipswich out of the play-offs last season.

Burley said: "It will be a tough game, we want to keep our run going and we are going there with plenty of confidence. There are a number of clubs up at the top winning regularly and we must keep our run going."

Burley said he did not feel Bolton's busy week - which also sees them play Tranmere in the Worthington Cup semi-final and Cambridge in the FA Cup - would be a factor in the match.

And he identified striker Eidur Gudjohnsen and attacking midfielder Claus Jensen as Bolton's two main danger men.

He added: "It's a big week for them but it's also a big match for us.

"The League is always the most important competition and I'm sure Bolton realise that - they will be wanting to finish in the top six and they are in a good position to do that."

Fabian Wilnis is available again and Gary Croft - who had another reserve team outing against Fulham on Wednesday - is in the squad.

Matt Holland trained yesterday and is fit and Marco Holster and youngster Richard Logan - who looks to be returning to form after scoring in the same reserve game - are also included.
