Tory MP Sir Teddy Taylor opened a new Shoebury charity shop aimed at boosting funds for Fair Havens Hospice.
The new store on West Road is the sixth shop around south Essex selling goods and raising cash for the Westcliff hospice in Chalkwell Avenue.
Sir Teddy, honorary president of the Fair Havens Hospice, said he was delighted to open the new store.
He said: "The charity shops make a considerable contribution to our income to help the hospice with its work.
"Last year, we made a profit of over £500,000 from the five other shops."
