A fine all-round team performance from Billericay ensured that Woodbridge never gained control of Saturday's match in Suffolk.
Within five minutes of the start, Steve Clow won a line out ball which found its way to Mark Yates who scored.
Fly half John Steven converted this, and the rest of the half saw Billericay ensuring that Woodbridge were mostly pinned back in their half and unable to convert what little possession they had into points.
They did score one try, however, and this was a a reminder of how dangerous their backs were when they get hold of the ball.
For the visitors, David Hyett came on early on in for Jeff Brown who put two ribs out of place.
Roger Moore had been consistently winning line out ball for Billericay and it was unfortunate that just before half time he also had to leave the pitch with a neck injury.
In the second half the points scored were from an outstanding try from Phil Parmenter. The Woodbridge backs were moving towards the Billericay try line when Parmenter intercepted a pass and raced away with it, and he touched the ball down between the posts to make it an easy conversion for Steven.
Billericay went close to scoring again late on with a forwards move which didn't quite come off.
This was a great game to watch. Yates was good again in loose play and some terific tackles went in from no 6 Martin Green and fly half Glenn Smith.
