The First leg of the National Indoor Inline Series 2000 was held at Solar Skate in Norwich on Sunday.
Rollerspeed skaters from the South Woodham Ferrers & Wickford Rollerspeed Skating Club were competing against skaters from across England in two age group races over varying distances.
The boys six to nine year group was an all South Woodham affair of six skaters.
First overall on the day was Sam Morrison with two first places, Chris Mizen was second (two seconds), and in third place was Jake Watkins (two thirds).
Billy Moore was fourth (two fourths), Robert Whiting fifth (two fifths) and Joshua Morrison sixth.
The girls 10-12 group was a close affair with Chanelle Moore just beating a rival skater from North London on the day to take first place overall with race placings of second and first.
Six skaters from South Woodham competed in the ten strong boys 10-12 group.
Gary Moore skated well to finish overall second (two seconds), with Jonathan Morrison finishing third (two thirds).
Richard Webb was fourth (sixth and fourth), Sam Goslin fifth (fourth and sixth), Jonathan Wallis sixth (seventh and fifth) and Michael Mizen 10th (10th and 10th).
Matt Richardson was the sole South Woodham representative in the boys 13-15 group and finished seventh with race results of eighth and seventh.
The senior ladies races were competed by three skaters and both races were well contested. Helen Warlow finished second overall, coming second in each race.
The second leg of this series is due to take place at Roller Drome in Leicester on January 23.
