Can you offer a pig a home?

Four boars who took up temporary residence in Pods Wood, Tiptree, still cannot go wee, wee, wee all the way home - because they haven't got one.

Nearly a year after being captured, the Vietnamese pot-bellied pigs are still at the Danaher Animal Centre in Wethersfield.

They were among 25 picked up from the wood last February. Homes have been found for the majority of them, but staff are still keen to find caring homes for four remaining porkers.

Centre manager Maxine Gillespie said Tom, Jack, Roger and Butchin were well behaved and not difficult to look after. The RSPCA would ideally like the pigs to go to homes in pairs so they will not get lonely, or one of the boars could make a partner for a sow.
