Brave Oliver Headon is ready to go back to school ten months after he was diagnosed with cancer.
Oliver, four, of Broomfield, Chelmsford, should find out whether he has beaten his illness next month when he returns to London for the latest test results.
For now, mum and dad, Dawn and Mike Headon, are just pleased to see Oliver getting back to mixing with youngsters his own age.
Mrs Headon said: "He's back to school today. The doctors feel he is ready to go back. This is a real milestone and Oliver's on the starting blocks. He just can't wait."
Oliver will join his brother, six-year-old Lewis, at St Anne's Preparatory School, in New London Road, Chelmsford. The family had travelled to Great Ormond Street last week and although Oliver hasn't been given the all-clear yet, his doctors are happy with his progress.
Little Oliver won the hearts of Gazette readers when his mum asked people to send him cards while in Great Ormond Street in order to keep his spirits up.
