A young boy is recovering after he was taken to hospital with a sink stuck on his finger.
The five-year-old child managed to become trapped with his finger in the overflow of the china sink at about 4.30pm on Thursday.
Firefighters and paramedics were called to Wivenhoe Park creche at Essex University.
They decided the best course of action would be to remove the sink attached to the child and take both to Colchester General Hospital accident and emergency department.
Firefighter Steve Kerridge said: "We took the sink off the wall with the help of paramedics. They took the sink and the child to the hospital and we chipped it off."
"He was quite distressed and was sedated at the hospital before we got it off."
The boy was later allowed home.
