Billericay Town will be watched by a four-figure crowd for the second time in eight days when FA Cup heroes Hereford United come to New Lodge on Saturday afternoon.

Gary Calder's men, watched by over 1,100 when they crashed 4-0 at home to Ryman League Premier Division leaders Dagenham and Redbridge, hope for an attendance around the 1,500 mark for their first ever clash with the Nationwide Conference outfit.

It's expected that the former Football League outfit will bring up to 500 fans for a tie which will see the winners through to the last 32 of the FA Umbro Trophy.

However, Town are banking on plenty of soccer neutrals coming along to see one of this season's outstanding FA Cup shock sides in live action.

Hereford, managed by well-known former Aston Villa and Wolves boss Graham Turner, came close to causing one of the big Cup shocks of the term.

In the third round they held Premiership outfit Leicester City to a draw before bravely bowing out in the extra period.

Despite having seen his team beaten in seven of their past nine home games, Billericay boss Calder is convinced his side are capable of themselves causing an upset tomorrow.

He said: "This is a great game for the club, but we're certainly not entering it thinking we're without a chance.

"We've had Hereford watched three times, had three training sessions ourselves this week, and hopefully have got our preparations spot on.

"If we go out there with the right attitude and defend properly - and that's something we've not been doing recently - we're in with a chance."

The extra training session Billericay held this week could interfere with selection plans as Steve Blaney pulled a hamstring and may be ruled out.

Billericay certainly wouldn't relish a replay as it would mean a lengthy trip down to Hereford on Tuesday night. They'd rather look to having a place in Monday's fourth round draw at Stamford Bridge.

Billericay chairman Rod Moore issued an "arrive early" appeal to fans attending the big match. He said: "We aim to have up to five turnstiles open, but would plead with supporters to set out a little earlier than usual.

"The clubhouse will be open from 1pm and we want to make sure that everyone is comfortably settled inside the ground when the match starts."

Don't let go! - this band of Billericay Town followers were able to get their hands on the FA Umbro Trophy when the third round draw went ahead at Nottingham Forest's City Ground. They are (left to right): Mark Kettlety, Steve Lewis, Rob Mason, Mark Mattholie, Ryan Connell and Neil Wood.
