Strewth! When Matthew Sterry teamed up with an Aussie backpacker on TV's Blind Date his luck was out.
Matthew, 27, was set for true romance but his date Emma did not share the same desires.
He said: "I was looking for a really nice girl and hoping for a good time, but Emma was clearly not interested. Her only thoughts were for a free holiday while she was doing her back-packing bit in this country."
Emma then went on to really annoy Matthew, who manages Quilters bar in Billericay. Matthew, of Chestnut Avenue, Billericay, added: "She kept knocking the English culture, apart from having a few digs at me which I didn't mind too much.
"We did not come to blows or anything like that but it was nothing like true love. I suppose we got on reasonably well. You have to make the best of it because you are away together for four or five days."
The couple will be seen jetting off for a fabulous break in Italy during Cilla Black's show later this month.
