A second bite of the cherry for a Colchester radio station could lead to it becoming a permanent fixture.
British Forces Radio, for the town's soldiers and their families, goes back on air on January 24 following a successful debut in the summer.
If the four-week trial proves a hit, the Army may fund a permanent station.
Three professional presenters will broadcast music, news and information from the garrison between 6am and 6pm each weekday.
But former Radio One DJ Mark Page, who ran the operation in the summer, has been replaced by Emma Elphick.
She said: "The station was incredibly popular last summer and people were saying they couldn't wait for us to come back, so we are hoping for another successful trial."
She said the regular feature of linking Colchester-based soldiers overseas with friends and families back home would also return.
