A grandmother has been killed in a head-on car crash.
The Chelmsford pensioner was behind the wheel of her Ford Fiesta when it was involved in a collision with a Ford Mondeo on Sunday morning.
Emergency services could not save Marion Skipsey, 62, of Moulsham Drive, who was pronounced dead at the scene.
Her husband Frederick and young grandson Jordan Brigdale were both injured.
They were taken to West Suffolk Hospital, Bury St Edmunds, where Jordan was treated for a broken thumb, and his 64-year-old grandfather for chest injuries.
The Mondeo driver and his passenger - Peter and Mark Murray from Thetford - both suffered chest injuries. All four were allowed home later in the day.
The smash happened at 11.25am on the A134 near Bury St Edmunds. Fire crews cut victims from the wreckage, while paramedics and an emergency doctor treated casualties at the roadside.
Traffic police are still investigating the crash which happened on a straight stretch of road in open countryside.
