Newcastle United have denied rumours they are about to make a £5m move for former Colchester United midfielder Mark Kinsella.
The U's have a sell-on clause for the player they sold to the Addicks for £150,000 three years ago.
But they are unlikely to hit the jackpot yet after former Layer Road boss Mick Wadsworth, now assistant to Bobby Robson at Newcastle, denied all talk of a move.
He said: "We don't have that sort of money. I can defintely say he will not be coming to St James's Park. He is a very good player but we are looking to offload players before we can sign anyone."
