A heavily-built mugger who robbed and terrified a woman was today being hunted by police.
He pounced on his 30-year-old victim as she was walking along a footpath at Great Gregorie, Basildon.
The woman shouted and screamed at the mugger as he grabbed her handbag and ran off towards Paprills. Several people chased after the robber but he sprinted off.
Witnesses have told police the man was 6ft tall and in his 20s. He wore a waist-length bomber jacket and a baseball cap.
