On Boxing Day, 14 members of Chelmsford Athletics Club competed in the annual Witham five-mile road race.
It was a successful day as four of the individual event medals went to Chelmsford club runners.
In the senior men's race, John Burrell came first, Gavin Chatterton second, Mark Sanford third, Rob Malseed fourth, Geoff Turner fifth, Simon Forgoni seventh.
Gavin Heslop was eighth, John Braun 10th, Chris Purse was 12th and won the vets over 40 event.
James Williams was 16th and won the under 18 event.
Other club members to compete in the event were Rodger Mills, Geoff Green, Martin Bramfoot, Stephen Williams and Peter Goodfellow.
Tracy Minton came fourth in the women's event and won the veterans over 35 category.
On Sunday, the Essex AAA hold their senior, junior and under 17 cross-country championships at Mistley.
The Chelmsford senior men will be hoping to retain the title for the eighth consecutive year.
