Ross Taylor was outstanding as Swifts earned a hard fought point in Monday's game at Scraley Road, with a point probably a fair return.
Swifts' Nicky Simpson had a super first half and on 24 minutes he saw a cracking shot headed off the line and he then hit the side netting after a good build up work from Taylor and Simon Parker.
Carthy headed just wide for Purfleet from their only real chance, but heybridge goalkeeper Simon Morden dealt comfortably with everything that came his way.
The second half began with Swifts again pressing, and for 20 minutes the Purfleet defence was under siege from some flowing football.
Swifts were unable to take advantage of the pressure at this stage, and Purfleet came back on the break, though the dangerous Keeling was thwarted regularly by Taylor.
Parker then battled hard to chase a ball heading for the goalkeeper and the attempted clearance hit Parker only to rebound just wide of the goal.
It was an entertaining affair for a good crowd but Swifts may feel that again it is points dropped. However, four points out of six over the festive period is fine reward for some excellent team spirit and two fine team performances.
Heybridge Swifts: Morden, Fiddes, Taylor, Haydon, Waters, Gillespie (Warwick 83 minutes), Simpson, Parker, Caton (Kreyling 75 minutes), Streetley and McLean. Unused substitute: McKrory.
