This was a relegation battle as both teams had struggled this season with Witham introducing Jamie Gold, formerly of Maldon Town, while Ben Bartlett was making his first start since rejoining the club.

The home side had the better of the first part of the game as Witham took time to settle and had a couple of dangerous looking free kicks that went wide.

When Stuart Joplin was put through he appeared to be pulled back, but Town's penalty appeals were turned down.

After the break Witham came more into the game and should have won the game but Glen Driver shot wide after Alan Vincent had headed the ball down to him.
