Billericay Town are to make a third attempt at staging their Essex Senior Cup fourth round tie.

On the first occasion the Ryman League Premier Division side were due to host Third Division Aveley the New Lodge pitch was frostbound. Then, two days before Christmas, it was waterlogged.

Now Billericay will attempt to play the game on Tuesday January 18 - providing there's a definite result from their FA Umbro Trophy home tie with Hereford United the previous Saturday.

The new date is ten days after the deadline for when fourth round matches should have been played but another tie, Harwich v Barking, has also been given an extension until next Tuesday (January 11).

If Billericay triumph they will host Division One Romford in the quarter-finals. Harwich or Barking will visit Southend United.

Holders Canvey go to Jewson League Clacton with the final fight for a last four spot seeing Purfleet host Grays.

Quarter-finals are due to be played on or before February 12.

Canvey Island's rearranged Premier Division clash with Basingstoke Town on January 18 looks like being off again as the scheduled visitors have a County Cup commitment the same night.
