More than 80 students were honoured at a Hockley school when it held its annual sixth form awards evening.
Former pupils from the Greensward College returned to the school for a special celebration dinner.
Awards were given to the students who left the school in Greensward Lane in the summer.
Principal, David Triggs, said: "This was a celebration of success, recognising the hard work and high standards that are the hallmarks of students in the sixth form at Greensward College.
"We were delighted with the A level course results achieved by our students this summer which saw an average points score of 20.5.
"The wide range of courses on offer coupled with the high quality of teaching and facilities available is making it a very popular choice for young people from across south Essex wishing to pursue a post-16 education course.
"This evening emphasises the fact that those who make such a choice have the opportunity to succeed at a very high level which in turn opens the doors of employment and the possibilities of higher education."
