Tiptree went goal crazy against poor Brightlingsea on Tuesday night but few would have believed the final outcome at half-time when the sides were locked at 1-1.
The Jam-makers were somewhat out of sorts to start despite taking the lead through an Andy Brady header and allowed the Colnesiders' an equaliser through Ian Kenny following a defensive slip.
The second half was a totally different story after Phil Battell finished off an excellent move after five minutes and the floodgates opened.
It was all one-way traffic as the Jewson division one leaders, now oozing confidence, were practically queuing up to score.
Further goals came from Tony French, 2, David Barefield, 2, Steve Daly, 2, and Brady again to extend their lead at the top to five points.
