Armada Sports are sailing into calmer waters as 1999 draws to a close.
For they climbed off the bottom of the table after notching their first Bukta Southend District League Premier Division win when they triumphed 3-1 over Parma Sports thanks to goals from Broomfield, Dury and Michaelson.
Blackgate Gunners are now bringing up the rear after slumping 9-1 at fourth-placed Thundersley and Hadleigh. Attwood and Waddeson got two goals apiece.
Linford Wanderers remain unbeaten at the top following a 4-1 win over third-placed Sparkbridge. I Bass grabbed a hat-trick.
Canvey Orient went second after beating AFC Horndon 1-0 with Tandy scoring.
Rochford Town, fifth, kept in touch with a 6-2 win at Cricketers Horndon. Johnson scored four.
However, individual honours of the day in the scoring stakes definitely came from CUACO's new signing Gillam. He grabbed all seven as his side beat Corinthians 7-1 in Division One.
The top two, leaders Hockley and Hawkwell and Enterprise Athletic, drew 0-0, while third-placed Thundersley Rovers crashed 7-0 to fourth-placed Rochford Town Reserves. L Clark got three here.
Wickford Rangers, fifth, kept up their good run in beating Ashworth Town 5-0. Catlin and Jones both grabbed braces.
In the Division Two derby between the second and third teams, Stanford Wanderers beat Linford Reserves 3-2 with Taylor scoring two for the winners and A Bass completing a similar feat for the losers.
Top team Belvedere won 3-1 against Chase, while Parma Sports Reserves made Middleway struggle when they beat them 12-1 thanks to six goals from Kilby and a hat-trick from Bioletti. Marples scored two.
