Animal rights protesters demonstrated against the sale and production of duck meat outside a Southend supermarket.
A dozen members of campaign group VIVA held placards and handed out leaflets outside the Sainsbury's supermarket in London Road.
They also ceremoniously poured a bucket of water over one of their own members, Phil Raines, who had dressed up in a suit and tie to mimic a supermarket manager.
