After the previous weeks 10 point victory over Southend, Billericay were feeling confident going into Saturday's match at Old Edwardians.
As they kicked off down the slope, they were quickly into the Old Edwardians half of the pitch and threatening their line.
Billericay were awarded a penalty after Old Edwardians insisted on killing the ball, and this was successfully kicked by fly half John Stevens.
His kicking skills were to be tested, as the wind was strong all afternoon.
A further penalty was awarded five minutes later, again to Billericay and again successfully kicked.
From the re-start, Billericay returned Old Eds kick off with interest and the line out ball was won by Steve Clow, popped up back to captain Paul Daly, who drove over the line for the first try of the game, which was converted by Stevens to make the score 13-0.
Daly scored another try, which was converted, to make the score 20-0.
As the first half of the game developed it was clear that Billericay were the superior team and had most of the possession.
There was some good clearance kicks when needed from Stevens and line out ball was consistently won by Clow, and Ritche Holdgate.
When Old Eds did gain possession, the Billericay defence was unshakeable with some outstanding tackling from centre Adam Hudson, and winger Neil Jarvis also doing an excellent job.
It was unfortunate that the home team backs were not given more ball to attack with as the scoreline does no justice to the performance.
The second half started much the same as the first, with Billericay going straight into the visitors half and giving them a hard time, before Stevens scored a try, which he also coverted
However, as the game progressed, Billericay became complacent and began to make mistakes. Old Eds worked very hard and found themselves making some progress, eventually making it over the try line.
From now, the game was more up and down as the ball went from one end of the pitch to the other, and Old Edwardians were awarded a penalty try which was converted.
A short period of stalemate with nothing much going on ended the game, with a final score of 27-12 in Billericay's favour.
This Saturday sees Billericay face a potentially difficult game, at Upminster, the second team will be at home to Upminster II and the third team travel to play Old Brentwoods.
