Essex snooker professional Brian Morgan "came back from the dead" in superb style to earn a semi-final spot in the China Open in Shanghai.
Morgan, the former Basildon and Southend favourite now living in Tiptree, was 4-2 down against fellow Englishman Peter Lines before winning three frames in a row for a 5-4 success yesterday (Thursday).
He now takes on the winner of today's quarter-final clash between Ronnie O'Sullivan and Paul Sweeney.
It is only the second time that former world junior champion Morgan has been through to the last four of a world ranking event.
And Morgan admitted: "Obviously I'm thrilled to bits to still be here."
Earlier in the week Morgan knocked out Basildon's Stuart Bingham to stay in the hunt for a first prize of £50,000.
Frame scores (Morgan first): 62-42, 42-63, 64-51, 46-82, 43-69, 45-61, 70-13, 61-48, 73-36.
