A student from The Peniel Academy at Brizes Park, Kelvedon Hatch, has shown that British is best at table tennis after winning 21 matches out of 21 during an international tournament in Northern France last week.
Abigail Embling, 12, who lives in Pilgrims Hatch, is the current number one England Seed in the Under 12 age group and proved once again why when she decisively beat teams from the six regions of northern France and Wales in the three way international competition.
Table tennis coach at The Peniel Academy, Mr Nicky Jarvis, said: "The four day long camp had a hectic schedule, which started at 7.15 each morning with a training run before breakfast; coaching until lunch and then the afternoon and evenings were devoted to matches between the different teams.
"The six regions of Northern France and Wales fielded their best players in the competition against England, which was held at Bethune in France so the competition was tough,''
''However, we were delighted with the way Abigail played winning all 21 matches in which she was involved which helped the England Under 12 Girls team win the championship title at this competition.
"Abigail trains hard and that training pays off in tournament after tournament as she proudly represents her country in international fixtures."
