Runwell Raiders set the stage perfectly for next weekend's top-of-the-table clash with current leaders Castle Point in the Premier Division of the South-East Essex Sunday League when they won 4-0 at ISIS.

The result was Runwell's fifth straight win and confidence is high for the forthcoming "six pointer".

Roach struck twice with Rex and Wilson adding their names to the scoresheet. Castle Point played hosts to CISK, the only side to have taken any points from them this term, but lightning was not about to strike twice in the same place.

The Godfrey brothers made certain of that as Darren netted twice and Danny once in a 4-1 success.

Old Island Boys A increased their lead at the top of Division One to seven points with a 3-1 win against Point Sports in a derby clash. P Bartley, Dilliway and Cooper found the target.

Grandees produced arguably the performance of the weekend when they smashed 12 goals past hapless Old Island Boys B to move into second place in Division Two.

D Prowse helped himself to a personal tally of four with Rothman snatching a brace.

Though seven points adrift from current leaders Rayford Town, Grandees have four games in hand and, on this form, it's difficult to imagine them making any slip-ups.

Rayford continued their assault for glory with a 6-0 home win over Sovereign, which included some spectacular goals.

Foxen struck twice including a beautiful 20-yard volley into the top corner.
