Defender Leo Roget faces severe punishment after inciting a riot following Southend United's Roots Hall defeat against Third Division leaders Barnet.

The 22-year-old stopper is in hot water with Blues boss Alan Little after a confrontation with the visitors, who inflicted a third consecutive home league reverse for the Seasiders with a Danny Brown brace and a late Marlon King strike.

As Barnet's players noisily celebrated their hard-earned victory with music, Roget stormed into the visitors' changing room and broke their stereo with an angry kick - actions which Little strongly condemned.

"I can't tolerate this kind of behaviour and I will be contacting the PFA before deciding upon what measures I can take to discipline Leo," confirmed Little.

"But I promise you I will be handing out the maximum financial punishment I can, because this mustn't happen again."

Little had to take on the role of peace keeper as all hell broke loose after the final whistle at Roots Hall.

"A few of the Barnet lads kicked our dressing room door in celebration as they went down the tunnel , which sparked this incident," Little continued.

"They then turned on their stereo and started to celebrate noisily, which led to Leo taking the law into his own hands and entering their changing room.

"He damaged their tape machine, which nearly caused a riot, and I was left to calm down the Barnet players, who were understandably unhappy."

The red mist also descended upon Roget during Blues' last home league clash - a 2-1 reverse against Darlington - which saw the young defender chase visiting hitman Marco Gabbiadini down the tunnel at the end of the game.
