The antics of two paragliders who are said to have plagued motorists on the way to Canvey have been criticised as "disgusting".
The paragliders got up to their low-flying capers over Canvey Way on Friday evening.
They were seen by police and have been blamed by motorist Barbara Russell for creating a traffic tailback and a safety hazard.
Mrs Russell said: "On my way home from work I came down Canvey Way and there was a big hold-up all the way back to Pitsea. Two people were paragliding over Canvey Way. It's disgusting.
"There was nobody stopping it. They were so low that cars had to slow down in case they hit them. The traffic had to slow down because of these two people."
A spokesman for Rayleigh traffic police said: "They were not landing in the traffic, but they were landing in the surrounding fields."
