Maldon hero Robert Wadwell, who rescued three people from a burning building earlier this year, sustaining brain injuries in the attempt, is to receive another award.
Last week Robert, 20, of Coleridge Road, was presented with the Order of St John's silver life saving medal - the highest civilian award for bravery after the George Cross.
Now he is to receive the Carnegie Hero Fund Trust award for his actions last February.
The award, set up in 1908 by the Scottish-American steel millionaire Andrew Carnegie, will be presented to Robert at Maldon Town Hall on January 14 at 3pm.
The Carnegie trustees have also pledged to maintain a continuing interest in Robert's welfare.
Robert's mother Christine said: "I am so proud of him. He's had such a traumatic year and made a remarkable recovery and now he is picking up these prestigious awards."
Robert sustained brain damage, which has resulted in hearing and memory loss, after falling to the ground after successfully helping to save three people from a burning building in London.
A former Plume School student he is now studying maths in Colchester for a future career.
